Hi fellow members
Where I work we got in a 99 formula that was wreck that we strip. What I want to know is will the plastic tank & fuel pump work in my 98 formula. My pump is kicking the bucket so I Want to upgrade to the bigger plastic tank instead of my steel tank.
Thank you

I'd have to dig around because for some reason I have it in my head that you can't use the pump but I might be wrong on that. Seems like for some reason 98's can't use the 99+ pump but I'm not sure about that. I do know that if you swap tanks you will want to swap pumps because the 99+ tanks don't have baffles in them and use a bucket on the pump where as the 98's don't use the bucket on the pump because they have baffles in them. Let me dig around and think about it for a bit if someone else doesn't chime in, I could be totally wrong on the pump. Maybe I'm thinking that if you swap tanks you have to swap pumps also.

thank for the info orion.I think there is something diffrent between the two pumps. the 99+ have a sensor the 98 do not have. That why I am asking .I dont care if I have to get a new pump but will the 98 pump assumbley work with the 99 tank.

no, the 98 pump will not work in a 99+ tank. For one thing they mount differently, the 98's bolt on and the 99's twist on. There's also the bucket and venturi feed system on the 99+ that the 98 doesn't have. I did some digging around and never really found any concrete info if swapping the tank and pump from a 99 back to a 98 would work. I think possibly the return lines are different on them.
