    $200 battery change ?

Dealer wants $120 plus $70 to install battery on 2000 C5 vette. The $70 is a fee to set the computer. Is there a way around this? Which is the best battery. Maybe a redtop Gel type ?

Get yourself a Optima red top and be done with it. Install yourself and forget the stealer!

Redtop isn't gell, it's an absorbant glass mat.

its all the same your just paying for the name at the dealer. the top is red but it kinda matches under the hood with the red fuel rail covers

That is crazy. Buy a $5 wratchet set and you can take the batter in and out yourself.

There is no need to do anything to the computer. Some places might install the battery for free with purchase of the battery.

get yourself of optima red top battery and change it yourself. I think you just need a socket set, 13mm, and a wrench, 3/16, to loosen the cables. No need to reset the computer. Dealerships are a rip.
