    A documentary of my Camaro

This was my Camaro 2 years ago when I bought it, the second day I had owned it to be exact. The only mods I had done to it at that time was the chrome Z06 wheels(17s) and the clear turnsignals and sidemarkers.

    Berger panel

One of my first appearance mods was to add the Berger panel with stainless Camaro fill ins to match the painted stripe on the car. The Berger panel works really well with pewter IMO.

I had also swapped out the Flowmaster for a Borla catback at this point.

During the summer of 2006, I cleaned up the lines of the car and improved the overall looks of the Camaro by removing the side molding and adding the 18x10.5 Z06 wheels in the rear.

    Engine bay appearance

The majority of the 2006 summer was spent on the engine bay appearance. The first step was cleaning it up thoroughly with Simple Green and removing the stock manifolds, AIR and EGR. From there I added the Jet hots, new plugs and MSD wires. The next step was removing all the stickers/decals from the engine bay. I followed that up by painting the LS6 intake, lid, radiator support and front bumper support all gloss black. The back of the headlights eventually were painted gloss black to clean them up as well. The dryer unit, ABS and throttle body were all hand polished as well.

The next phase was time consuming, expensive and something that probably can't be done if your car is your DD. All the front brackets, hood brackets & latches, valve covers, MAF ends, and tensioner were all powdercoated. Powdercoating looks great and holds up well, but its definitely costly

From that point, all the visible bolts were swapped for chrome bolts or billet bolt caps, another costly aspect I also added billet fluid caps and chrome dipstick.

Battery cover, fuse relay covers and color matched fuel rail covers & PCM cover came next. The FRCs came from afterthoughtsauto.com. They were precut to fit fbodies, I didn't do any cutting on them myself.

The final phase was hiding all the wires. The hood latch and grounds on the driver side aren't difficult to relocate out of sight. The following link will explain how I hid the passenger side wires:

    http://www.lswon.com/2005/01/25/wire-mod/

Throw a STB, MBA head plate, braided hoses into the mix and all of the above results in the bottom picture and a lot of bloody knuckles/fingers

    Suspension and stance

The first real mod I did to this Camaro was added boxed sub frame connectors, a must for any 4th gen fbody IMO. Upon completing the engine bay, I concentrated on the suspension and stance of the car. I didn't want a slammed look but didn't want the 4x4 factory look either. I went with BMR lowering springs, chromoly adjustable panhard, boxed lower control arms and relocation brackets. For shocks I chose KYB adjustables. I regret my decision to go with KYBs and feel this is the one mistake I have made in building this Camaro. At some point, I will upgrade the shocks(the rears at the very least) to Koni SA's. I followed all this up with a driveshaft safety loop, upper panhard and an adjustable torque arm.

I don't have any current pictures from underneath the car to post at this time unfortunately.

    CCWs

The BEST mod I have done to the Camaro came in December/January 2006. The CCWs, 1 piece billet aluminum CNC polished wheels.

18x10 fronts wrapped with 275/35/18 BFG KDW NTs
18x11 rears wrapped with 295/35/18 BFG KDW NTs

I also added a set of cross-drilled and slotted rotors and painted the calipers. I currently possess an extra set of LS1 calipers I plan to get powdercoated gloss black and swap out for the painted calipers.

Not many significant mods have occured in 2007. I am hoping to install the heads/cam package later in the fall that I have been sitting on for a while now. I also added the 3rd catback to the Camaro and one of the most desired mods for the Camaro, the center mount exhaust(CME).

Y2KSS,man pewter is about my 6th favorite color on a camaro, but yours is by far the nicest most bad ass one i have seen yet.and where do you find those rear bergers panels at and how much?i am going to probably getting a hugger orange camaro and always thought that would look good on it with a 69 Z/28 badge in the middle of it.

Thanks for the compliments. A buddy of mine painted the Berger panel for me. Just get any colored Camaro panel and make it yourself. There really isn't anywhere to buy them.
