    h pipe or streight pipe

    Wich one will give me a louder sound H pipe or streight pipe i already flowmasters super 40s so what do you guys think.

    Did you eliminate the pre muffler yet......?
    If not it made mine deeper tone once I replaced with 2 short straight pieces of pipe.
    Louder would be with NO crossover weather it be a h or a x.

    i just eliminated resanater with streight pipe yesterday but i noticed a sound like a little rattling coming from where the new pipe was put a few hours later when i went out. any thoughts on what that could be

    I would say it is a pin hole leak in the weld somewhere.........
    That would be my guess.

    i heard the x pipe flows the best. and they should be similar in sound, your muffler is where it gets hairy...

    i thought h-pipes had a more mucle tone to it and x -pipes have a more exotic tone

    what the hell does that mean? nothing with a sbc will sound "exotic". it isnt a hooker..

    exotic.... thats rich.....

    i was wondering if i were to change the factory pipe with 3in pipe will change the tone of my exhaust i am running flowmaster s40 just asking what you guys think befor i go throw my money away.

    Yes it will change the tone. It will give it even more resonating than it already has getting off the throttle. If your still trying to get to sound deeper or more mean buy an "off-road" primary pipe that will eliminate your cats. They are working as a pre muffler.
