I have done many of these... The existing stock roof skins are thinner than the replacemant pieces. The glue that they were installed with at the factory seems to have a reaction when it sits out in direct sunlight on a hot day. This I have seen an every color of 4th Gen ( Commonly 98 - 02 ). both hardtop and t-top. Some are worse than others, but if you start looking for it you will find it on all that havent been replaced. Repainting the existing roof skin wont solve the problem as the issue comes from under the skin upward. Its a pain to do, but mony well spent before a extremely nice paint job is done. Just purchase the new roof skin, have it painted to match then cut the original off and glue the new one in place. I have done several cars with less than 10,000 miles on em in the last few years.
Thanks Joe
