Smooth, Filled and Painted my FAST Intake

I hate the fuel rail indent on the FAST Intakes, so I decided that before I painted the intake, I would fill in the indent, and smooth it out so it would look like the other intake runners.

I also have the Holley 90mm TB, which does not have the bolt hole on top, so the FAST Intake has that big piece of plastic sticking up behind the TB...aka, fugly. I thought it would look better if I chopped that piece of plastic off and smooted it so it was even with the TB.

I also smoothed out the "WILSON" and "FAST" words and smoothed the runners.

Total labor time: 4 hours. Total wait time (Bondo and Paint drying time): 1 week.

Here are the pics of my work.

    Starting point:

    Smoothed out the company name/logo:

Adding Bondo to the Fuel Rail indent:

Cut off front of Intake and Bondo'd to make smooth with TB:

Test fitting the TB and EGR Plate:

    Primered:

Two coats of Black Engine Enamel and Clear Engine Enamel:

    Finished:

    So...what do you guys think?

looks good! That is what we do to the OEM intakes before we powder them. It makes such a huge difference in the appearance.

I think im the minority that actually likes the looks of a FAST intake the way it is. That does look good though, I dont think I will ever do that to mine though.

Looks good I was going to paint the fast if i ever get around to buying one. Going to wait till i get the heads and cam 1st. I wasn't going to bother taking the letters off but now that I see it done i like it. Curious about why you had so much bondo to fill the area with the lettering in? What was there that needed so much?

I would have done a Semi-Gloss due to it being easier to keep clean though.
