    1966 corvette ls3

    66 corvette resttomod with ls3 and mag tvs 2300

    I just purchased a 66 corvette restomod at auction and have no info about this car. I do know it has a 2014 LS3 with the Magnuson tvs 2300 supercharger. When I purchased the car there was no throttle body or air intake system. The car puts out about 600hp with the supercharger and headers so I need to decide which throttle body to use and what size. It is drive by wire. I am less concerned about adding any more hp but just want the best for the money ie if I need a new throttle body anyway should I go up in size?

    I have a silly question, if you purchased the car without a throttle body, how do you know it really has 600 hp?

    Do you know what the previous owner had on it previously?

    A base LS3 has 430hp . . tvs2300 supercharger adds 120hp . . headers and tune add 50hp . . that equals 600hp. And no I don't know what the previous owner had on it and if I did I wouldn't be asking for help here.

    Really no one?! I decided to go with the GM 90mm from the more modern corvette.

    This isn?t a professional tech line and not everyone adds a supercharger to their car. Websites don't get as much traffic as they used to, with people deciding Facebook and Discord are more funner-er.

    Did you consider contacting Magnuson about your boggle?

    No reason to be indignant about it.

    Well, horsepower is never simple addition and the only real number that matters is what makes it to the wheels; crankshaft horsepower is for marketing and guesstimates.

    Plus who knows what condition the engine is in and what they did with it, it could run like total poo, and without it running, there is now way to know.

    You could have a barn burner or a car that gets lapped by a Prius.

    Its a 2014 GM crate motor with 7200 miles . . I think I'm fine.
