    Lifters

So im in the process of a mild ls1 build. Will be running decent cam (236*-240*-111*-.631"-.610"), ls6 intake, bigger throttle body, new pushrods, ported 241 heads and set pf Howards 1.7 Billet roller rockers. Aiming for around 400+ rwhp.

Main question i have is surrounding lifters. Looking for quality aftermarket and was wondering if i really really need tie/link bar lifters considering its not a mega hp motor? To me lifters are cheap insurance, so I don't want to really risk standard or ls7 ones, but I am not sure if i should just go quality single or tie bar lifters.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

You'll be fine with a quality single lifter. I have been using the Johnson lifters, little more money than the LS7 but way better quality.

My 6.0 started tapping this weekend, sent the video to the shop that built the engine, and was told to not drive it and get it to them. The thought is that it's probably lifters but haven't confirmed yet.

Apparently, something may be up with newer GM LS7 lifters, as Texas Speed has recently put a note on their websites page for GM LS7 Lifters that the product has no warranty.

Anyone else been having problems with GM LS7 lifters? Any reasonably priced replacements out there? Running a non-factory cam.

Good news, seems that I had a rocker arm go bad; seems like my lifters may be OK, after all!
