Carbon Fiber before and after.
So this new kid checked in to my squadron and I saw he had a ricer honda with some carbon fiber parts that looked terrible! It almost looked like it was primer gray. I felt bad for the kid because as an E1 in the Navy his paychecks are very small, and I know he loves his car. So I invited him over, and told him I would fix up his wing and hood for him. Here are some picks from before...
I hit it up with some wet sanding 1000k grit, the 2000K grit. Then used the Makita to apply compound and polish. Then did a hand wax for good measure. Here are some after pictures....

Ohh we will knock out the hood next week. It was starting to get dark, and the light in the garage sucks.

Thank you everyone! Im clueless to what or why the carbon fiber ended up looking that bad. The hood is even worse, and we should be knocking that out in the next few days.

Thank you! He's a good kid, and I was happy to help him out. I can remember when I joined, and the first year can be a little tuff.

Thank you! I finished up the hood today. It came out nice, but there was still a little haze. Here are some picks.
