my convertible exhaust leak
I really need help with this .I had headers installed and ever since i dont enjoy driving the car.The car has AN EXHAUST LEAK AND ITS REALLY BAD WHEN I HAVE THE AC ON.I have taken it to several exhaust places and they cannot find the leak.I am almost at the point of putting the stock exhaust back.Love my car but this is driving me crazy. And by the way i have headers y pipe and 1 cat as a midpipe and dynomax muffler.

Have you had the tune adjusted for deleting the egr and installing the headers?
Can you hear the exhaust leak?
I'm wondering if the shop that installed them broke a exhaust bolt and that's what is causing the leak.
Any codes or misfires while under load (foot to the floor)?
If you're able to I would put it up on jack stands and look over the exhaust myself. Some shops say they look but don't really because they don't want to do the work.

The tune is recommended afterwards to zero the EGR timing tables.
I still think either a header bolt is loose or missing or you may have a hole in the tubing somewhere. You should still be able to hear a leak though. If by smell you could be running rich and for that a tune is needed.
Is this a CATback system or are you running with no CATs?
SIMs BTW are not a great solution vs a tune. Bandaid at best.
tunebyfrost.com is where I would suggest looking into. He can make the adjustments for the headers and some other tweaks that will squeeze out some HP that the factory held off on. You mail in your ecm, fill out a worksheet and pay IIRC $150. Mail by Monday, 2 day shipping you could have it back by Friday. For mild bolt ons like headers it's a good deal. I did it when I was starting to mod my car.

If you're an auto he will adjust the shift points and a few other things to put it at best performance.

Not sure. I can't remember if it was something you had to check. I have a manual so it didn't apply to me.

have you had a chance to look over the exhaust to see if any cracks in the tubing or possible missing manifold bolt yet?
