I don't think powder coating will take with a plastic piece. The piece needs to have a negative charge in order for the powder to stick to the piece.
There is a process that is called Hydro-coating, basically it is dipped into a liquid. Here is a video of what I'm talking about.
I know there is a company in MS. If you're interested I can PM you the web site.Last edited by SMWS6TA; 05-01-2012 at 12:09 PM.

For "street" use and everyday driving the turbo radiator and fans work perfectly. If I plan on doing any track day racing there are several options and some require minor modification to the headlight assembly etc. What I plan on doing is seeing what temps she holds at during these MS summers and then I'll decide for sure.

A buddy of mine just started his own hydro-graphic shop if any of you guys are interested. I think it is a pretty cool process.

Will do man. Yea I know how you feel. There is a guy here locally with a 87 944S that has been sitting in the same spot for the last 5 yrs. Has NOT moved. Contacted him about giving it a good home and he rattled on about fixing it up and it's a P.O.R.S.C.H.E. so it's "rare" especially since its abs "S" bla bla bla. I knew where that conversation was goin... Nowhere. I just can't stand to see great cars go to waste. Sooo 6 months later.....same spot. Oh well

This....kills me how ppl will keep something and NEVER do anything with it or let them go. In my area there are several car/trucks like this.
Stingray Corvette - Was last rebuilt in 98, same owner has let it sit since then and it is dying a slow painful death....only drove it 100 miles after the rebuilt and parked it. he has had many upon many offers but keeps telling ppl it will be worth more later so why sell it now Now get this.........he owns the Mechanic shop that it is parked at. This has also told me that I will never let his shop ever work on any vehicles. I'm of the mind set that if your shop looks like trash then your work must be of the same quality.
Unknown early 40's car - been sitting in this guys front yard for 20+ yrs, he finally moved it to the back because he got tired of ppl asking.
Early 40's Ford truck - up till a couple of yrs ago I thought it could be salvage. Now I see it just a collection of rust. 6 months ago a tree branch fell from a storm and dropped through the hood and side fender. Even the glass, which is quite rare and valuable to ppl that restore cars is totally unusable.
Then you meet those guys that think their rust pile is the next Barrett Jackson car....Last edited by SMWS6TA; 05-03-2012 at 10:16 AM.

Nice, build. I'd like to see it in action when it's finished.
Yes. I hate that crap. I got a fellow i'm related to that lives right down the road from me. He's got a back yard full of old rusted down cars that he won't sell. Got a few old Mustangs, Camaros, El Caminos, Chevelles, and what not. Brags about them eventhough they're probably too rusted to work with by now.
