    LS1/LS6 rebuild ballpark...

Availability of LS2 or even LS6 block vs LQ4/9. THE LQ wins.

As for weight penalty. I can tell you mine doesn't even notice it. I have Hotchkiss 1" drop springs and Bilstein shocks. It didn't drop the nose more than a qtr in between my LS1 and the 403 LQ block.

Yeah, if I can make that power with the LS1/LS6, as long as I dont have a roached bottom end which I shouldn't, I think I will see about rebuilding my block. Should be less confusion. I figure that I will have to buy a new intake and throttle body at that point. I am almost ready to drop it off.

I got a hold of the guy who used to run F-Body Central, and he was able to source me a 6.0 G8 GT block, do a full rebuild of the bottom end, use Texas Speed LS6 heads, and a McCloud clutch kit for about the price other shop was quoting to re-use my block. So I pulled the trigger on it. The 6.0 is at the machine shop!

He is in VA, just shy of the NC border now, it should be a bit of a drive, but he does good work. He is going to re-use my LS6 intake, and not do anything too Gucci.

    I am very excited now!

Nice. I am hoping for between 425-450 rwhp and a good torque curve

    LS1/LS6 rebuild ballpark...

I'm betting you be around 415ish with that cam.

Even with the 6.0’s bore and Texas Speed 243 heads?

415 is still about 8.5 lbs per hp, and I probably shouldn’t be crying, but that would make the setup only 60 hp more than my current LS1 with a stock long block.

If you look at my signature you'll see what I have and it only put out 450 to the rear. As good as 243's are they still don't flow enough when compared to aftermarket heads.

My cam is 237/242 @112 LSA .650 lift

LS1s with stock 241s and LS6 intakes would be around 400. 405-410 was the most I ever saw cam only. This was on a Mustang dyno

The 6.0L and new clutch job is in the car and running, going to get dyno tuned on Thursday. Cross your fingers!

Trying to work up budgeted funds, and also compare bottom end rebuild against getting a LS2 bottom end.
Wouldn't hurt to ask any local tuners. They usually are have contacts with builders in their area too.
