I agree, plus most people who have the intention of using a firearm in a criminal act will probably not take the course and just figure... "I'm a thug I can do what I want, when I want." Help keep law abiding citizens carrying separate from most criminal who simply haven't been convicted of a felony or violent felony(in some states) yet who carries.

But I have to agree getting a permit to carry, should require some type of safety training and background check.
Don't care for open-carry.

...it's not that "we're lucky", ...shall issue is what should be in the spirit of the bill of rights... rather, ...it's you and your fellow kalifornians who are being denied your rights, ...have you seen what your candidate for governor (gavin newsome) is trying to ram down your throats w/ his ballot initiative of tyranny?... I sure hope you all wake up and shove it back up where it came from!!!

IN doesn't require you to conceal or open-carry....you can carry however you want. I prefer concealed like most though.

Yes it's such bullshit we are a 'may issue' state. And there is no point applying because 'self-defense' isn't a good enough reason for our Sherriff. Even though Peruta won.
