The LS6 intake might do it for you. I installed it on my wifes car and after several runs I had mixed reviews. I would say more than 50% of the time it yielded about 1 mph and a tenth from previous best with LS1 intake. But as the day wore on the DA got worse. I started out the day running the car lean, about 13.3-13.4 AFR because of the elevation differences we have, and I didn't bother to flash in a fatter tune. Plus some other minor differences such as having to run 91 octane now verses the 94 I used to run, so I had to pull some timing out of it. So I chalk that test run up as inconclusive.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 07-19-2010 at 02:52 PM.

Ya I'm somewhat mixed on it as well. I think with similar conditions, more time to fiddle with the tune while at the track, I would have seen something more substancial. I'm sure it is worth something over the LS1 intake, I just haven't fully exploited it yet.
The FAST intake is nice, but I'm not spending $1,500 plus on an intake for a daily driven street car. It's just not what our 4th gens are about for us. I have 60's muscle cars I'd rather spend that kind of dough on.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 07-20-2010 at 11:22 AM.

Just pickin on ya
I don't see why you couldn't get close to that though with stock rubber, considering the size of the tire these 4th gens have, and a few suspension tricks, but still utilizing the stock pieces, it's doable.
We did it in the pure stock class racing, and it was even more difficult considering we had to use the tires that were correct for the car,,,in this case, tiny little F70-14's bias plys with a 6-7 inch contact patch No traction bars allowed. I was running 1.90's 60 foot times but there were guys dipping well into the 1.70 range.
Don't see why you couldn't do that or even surpass that in a 4th gen as wide as the stock rubber is. Just takes a little enginuity. I think it hasn't been done yet simply because the desire or the necessity isn't there.
Not like there is any class racing for a 4th gen that requires stock rubber.

If I can do it in a 40 year old car on F70x14 bias plys,,,,I'm pretty sure I could do it in a 4th gen with 275mm tires. Just sayin
Edit: Come to think of it, I did go a 1.93 60 foot time with my 4th gen and wasn't even trying hard. Not a single wrench turned on the suspension and did that on all season BFG's, their mud and snow version, didn't even air them down, had 40 psi in em',,hahaha.
I'll go out on a limb and say if I had a chance to tweak a few things under there I could easily shave 2 tenths from that.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 07-20-2010 at 11:58 AM.

If I remember right, it's already been done by a member here. I believe he ran a 1.70 60 foot with an auto, and the car ran 11's. He was on stock 245/50-16 rubber. There is a video of it around here somewhere.
Anybody good with the search engine??? LOL.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 07-20-2010 at 12:26 PM.
