I say 99% because I still need to add gear oil, bleed the brakes and get the u joint swapped out on the drive shaft. This has been the major problem child this weekend. I've tried heat, c clamps & even hammer blows and still won't budge. I give up I'll take to a shop and have them try their luck.
I still need to wrap up a couple more things before I can road test it but I did have it looked over with a shop and everything worked well when they tested it.
Next update will be road testingLast edited by SMWS6TA; 05-26-2014 at 04:57 PM.

And the last piece of the puzzle is done. New Mong u joint is on, I'll install after work.

Very productive day...
Drive shaft is installed.
BONUS....
DSL and ORY too. Getting the new ORY was a wise move.

Well an important update now that the drive train has some miles and everything has had time to settle. Something has been making strange noise and causing some jerking in the drive train. Today I had sometime to knock out some things on the car. Fixed the fuel level gauge and some other odd ends.
Got the car to sit as it would at ride height on jack stands and under I go and fine this.
It's sandwiched against the tunnel.
So after about 4 hours of grinding and trimming and cussing I finally got it right.
With the 8.8 and the Hiltsy mount there is a spot that the TA mount wasn't going to clear. So after reading some of my reference threads on 8.8's I'm not the first to have this issue with aftermarket TA. So I cut out the section between the 2 holes and as you can see in the pics also had to trim out some more for the top side.
The reason for the notching was to allow me to slide side to side and get as close as I could to the flange on the pinon and drive shaft.
In this pic below you can see why. Clearance for the top bolt.
After all this I adjusted the pinon angle to -2*.
Took for a test drive and no more issues, noise and damn she moves.....Now on to the other thousand issues to work on....

So going over this thread for review and decided to give an update. Been banging on this rear with no mercy since March 2016. No issues what so ever!!!
Car pulls like a freight train when it hooks. On NT555ZR street tires I did my personal best run last wkend at a local track, 7.61 on a 1/8 mile.
Only negatives so far is still needing a new drive shaft, it's getting ordered once it comes out of the paint booth this month. I can't run slicks or DR's till I get a new drive shaft, unless I want to see how fast I can snap it.
Reviewing the thread because I may or may not be making another one for someone...
