1947 Dodge powered by a 5.3
Greeting Everyone,
I would like to share a few pictures of my version of a ratrod.
This is a 1947 former Fire Truck from Spiceville Indiana.
I bought it on a Pallet for $700.00 with a good clean title.
Its now on a 97 S10 Chassis.
Rear End has 3:43 Gear from a 2001 M6 Firehawk
Motor is Stock, EGR delete, drive by cable, Headers, and tuned by Brent from LPE
Radiator is rear mounted in the Bed as well as Fuel Cell
Copper Tubing supplies an extra 2.5 Gallons of Coolant to the System(about 16 feet of 1.5.
Inside it has seats from an Envoy with Heat, Power, and Lumbar
It has a 7.5" flat screen in the Dash with GPS Guidance, TV, DVD, Back up Camera, as well as CD and AM/FM
I'm running a M30 4 speed Automatic
The Bed is Engraved the same as the doors and has 1947 Dodge cut into it.
My windshield cranks open!
The Spotlight works
I used a Painless wiring harness and it was so Simple I felt like a Pro.
Its got 15x10 Cragers on the rear from 1984 and China Repops on the front.
lowered 2" front and 3" Rear
Best Pass at Muncie IN was a 13.904 at 99.52mph
This a Blast to Drive at 2750lbs and gets a lot of attention everywhere we drive it.
Thanks for Checking out my Ratrod.....

I think I would be nervous as hell of that junction above the alternator.
Do you have heating issues like air flow with it in the bed?

It runs at 160 all day long. There is no front to my Bed so it gets a lot of air from under as well as beside the truck.
That's why I put the slice of an old Hose on the Tube there, it's not a splice, that Tube is one piece.
