I'd prefer to see them get away from the modular all together. It is too heavy and too big (physically). Given that you can't easily bore a modular, the only way to get one up to 350-ish CID is to add more stroke, which means an even taller deck, which means an even wider engine, which means an even heavier engine, etc.
Hopefully the new motor folks have been talking about will be available in 2 or 3 years.

Grey- 2003 Mach 1
I stumbled on this thread while doing a search & it made for interesting reading.
As far as my mods at the time I ran 11.3's, go HERE for the full list.
I don't list my mods in my signature as it simply isn't necessary IMHO. If someone asks me what my mods are, I tell them or point them to the list I linked to.
Also, here's a video of my best N/A stock long-block pass last year:
Angus 11.35 run.
This was run during a bracket session at Cecil County Dragway. I dialed-in an 11.50 because I didn't have a roll bar at the time so the track officials wouldn't let me dial-in anything less..
FWIW, the ET's Bob was running at the time in his class-winning '99 Cobra was one of the main reasons I purchased my Mach 1 in the 1st place...
See you at Norwalk Bob.'03 Mach 1
Low 11's N/A on the factory long-block...
... a little faster on the juice.
