Corvette's new Performance Data Recorder dash cam could make
Filed under: Performance, Technology, Chevrolet
Chevrolet just introduced its nifty Performance Data Recorder at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show that will show up in production form later this year on the 2015 Corvette Stingray. For the time being, this Cosworth-developed camera and telematics package will be exclusive to the Corvette, but Motor Trend is reporting that it could well show up in new cars and electronics stores in the not-too-distant future.
Neither Chevy nor Cosworth have given any sort of timeframe for how long the Corvette will be exclusive provider of this factory-optioned equipment, but the article states that Cosworth could eventually shop the PDR to other automakers in a similar fashion. Even better for consumers, Cosworth is also said to be in talks with GoPro to create an aftermarket plug-and-play type device that would plug into any late-model car's on-board diagnostics port to gain access to various vehicle data.Corvette's new Performance Data Recorder dash cam could make it to other cars originally appeared on Autoblog on Wed, 08 Jan 2014 11:40:00 EST.
