Spark Plug Reference Chart
Hey guys, been working on this for a little while and finally have it ready to post. Maybe someone can sticky it to the top so that people can easily reference it? It's fairly hard to compare each manufacturers heat range since there are so many factors involved but this is, in my opinion, the closest match for NGK's heat range system, which was used in the chart. If you guys would like to see certain plug manufacturers added, let me know.

What about stock ls-2 m05 gto with cat back and 125 shot of nitrous. What plug do you reccomend? Prefferably american and not autolite they remind me of ford or maybe it's just me ot is autolite a ford plug? But a list of all that would work is fine--i had the ngk-tr6 in my 94 camaro

I'm new to the chevy small block game - been under the buick 3.8 v6 and lately under the Gloriful Pontiac 389 from the 60s game - but only a few months into the chevy 350 in my 95 T/A (LT1)
Reading this post as I'm trying to see what plugs to buy to replace the ones in my TA I'm thinking - why is ACDelco a no show on the great post you got up there?? I've always been a fan of AC plugs although when pricing some at my auto parts store they tell me the TA takes platinum AC plugs -
I've never been a fan of platinum plugs as I feel they're a tad geared towards extended life (and higher prices) and a tad less geared towards quality of performance from the plug.
Anyone have any good stories for an AC plug in the LT1? If so lend me the part #.

I had a ? I have ngk55 plugs I'm about to put on my afr headed 383 lt1 and plan on spraying a 80shot at the track every once in awhile. So ur saying I should space them a little less than .50? I fast reply would be nice because the plugs r going in tomarrow. Thanks

After alot of looking to find what plug to use with what shot of Nitrous this is the best tip I've found and makes things really simple.

Go One heat range for for every 75hp shot. So
BR6 good up to 75 shot
BR7EF good to 150 shot
B8EFS good to 225 shot
I've tested this first hand and it works. I was told over and over tr6 was ok for a 150 shot. My 150 shot on that plug did a best of 9.88. After finding this info I put the br7ef in (my only change) went 9.89 on a 100 shot and 9.75 on a fat 150 shot.Last edited by Frozen WS6; 03-12-2011 at 09:56 PM.

in the ls1 drat heads... they take a stock style... not gasket type .. and
list from hot to cold for autolite
AR3910
AR3911
AR3932
AR3933
i have ran all on my gfs 77 400sbc @11.5-1CR with biug cam and 34* of timming (pump gas)
the 3910,3911 are to cold for it, i talked to a auto lite rep told me they are for race only eng's they will not work under 3500 rpm. they are too cold
we use the Ar 3933...in and works good
