I use a small cable tie to hold the clips in the close position.

alright guys need some help again, i only got to mess with the car for about 2 hours today and i was hoping to get the motor completly out but it didn't work out that way. Anyways i am down to just the driveshaft, gear select linkage and then unbolting the k and cross members..
How do i go about disconnecting the driveshaft and that linkage? step by step would help, never messed with any of that stuff before..

unbolt the driveshaft from rear end, pry it off the rearend yoke, and slide it out of the transmission
Auto or manual?

ok then the shifter cable just unsnaps from the trans lever. Just pry on it with a screwdriver or something. then unbolt the cable bracket and the shift cable is free

UGHHHH!!!! i was really hoping to have this thing out today, after some minor issues and set backs, all i have left is getting the damn torque arm off, which i can not get off for the life of me!!
everything is unbolted, i started lifting the car when i noticed the torque arm, i got the bolts out of the back of it earlier and i guess just forgot about getting it off of the trans. SO does anyone have any tips to get this thing loose from the trans? it looks like it just slides in but it damn sure won't just slide out.. I plan on getting that disconnected tomorrow when i get home from work then getting the motor out, shouldn't take to long after i get that off since it was coming out nice and smooth with no other issues...

I had to remove the torque arm recently. At the transmision housing were the torque arm meets there is the actual bushing and it's bracket. There are 3 bolts that hold the bracket in place. The bolt on top of it holds the 2 parts of the bracket together. If you loose the top bolt off then you have to move the loose part of the bracket until you can get it out. You might just be able to loose the bolt just enough to just slide the torque arm out.

I'll give it another shot tomorrow when i get home from work. I just talked to a buddy of mine that said basically the same thing, he said it should just slide out with a little force if not to loosen those bolts that are on the trans itself... we will see, i still have till wednesday or thursday before all my parts should be here anyways...
I can't wait to get this stall put in, just got a trans cooler to go with it.

Make sure that the bushing is good and not broke. I replaced mine with the Poly one. I want to get the relocation bracket so I can disconnect the torque arm from the transmision.
