    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

i'm reminded of a joke that George Carlin once said:

"why is it when two planes come close to colliding in the air, they call it a 'near-miss' ? When you think about it, a near-miss...IS A HIT!"

Heck of a job on the part of the pilot. Whoever gave the all clear to land needs their ass fired, no exceptions.

I cant understand why he waited until the last min. to correct for the wind. Hell I love a good crosswind landing but dam that was just stupid.

It's not up to ATC. ATC will advise of the wind conditions but it is always the pilots decision.

Guess I shouldn't put so much faith in Die Hard 2: Die Harder.

That was crazy. Never seen a crosswind crabbing like that. Did he just go around and land on the same runway. That reminds me of some of my less than memorable RC landings. (Thank God for Superglue)

I want to know the over under on how many of the passenger will ever fly again. I am thinking 85 percent won't EVER step foot on another plane.

you probably wouldnt believe it but some passengers probably didnt even notice...im sure they were aware of "high winds and rough landing"...but as far as the plane was crabbed...no way

it sure... they grant you the access to a run way when conditions are like that... "you are clear to land on "runway 8"...

they assigned him a different runway (hamburg has an "X"-layout).
