slave adjusting
i was watching a show where the guy was talking about adjusting the bearing clearence. he measured the distance from the bearings to fingers but never mentioned how to change distance. different spring???? when the clutch is not depressed, does the bearing touch the fingers?

The fingers should touch the slave a little. Not enough that they're pressing in more than an 1/8". Shims are mostly used to bring the slave closer to the fingers because of the aftermarket bell housings or clutch kits are slightly different then OEM depths.
I have a QuickTime SFO BH and Monster stg 4 clutch and did not need to use any shims.

I run a SPEC 3+ and had to use a slave shim. My old RAM clutch didn't require a shim.

neither did my LS7 clutch kit.
