Shifting issues
I have been working on this LS1 swap for a few years. I finally got the parts together by two different mechanics and just found out the transmission was shot. Anyway I have a new T56 (2002 length) it was just installed at a local transmission company because it would not go into 1st or reverse. They opened it up and it had synchronizers and gears were shot (that was the only used part I bought) I had already installed a new steel flywheel and McLeod RST twin clutch and a tick slave cylinder.
Now my issue is the transmission company called and said it will not go into reverse (we plugged the skip shift solenoid input and put the skip shift solenoid in the reverse lock-out socket.
Could the skip shift solenoid be bad? Any other ideas?
Thanks

Yes, I'm currently having this issue myself. My 1-6 gears work but no reverse. I'm waiting on a buddy to get back from Guard duty to let me borrow one from a spare transmission to see if it fixes my issue.
I'll let you know if it fixes mine.http://www.ls1.com/forums/f7/my-6-liter-build-174257/

I just came back from the transmission shop. They seem to think it is caused my the new transmission. So they ordered another one and I ordered the Samoco Lockout module to wire in the reverse lockout properly. Of course the shop cut off the old solenoid so I need a new one.
The mechanic thinks it was the new shaft into the pilot bearing somehow did not fit right. Ill let you know if I find out more.
Thanks for the reply
