So I spoke to a rep from the company that makes oil products, including MOA, BG Products I believe, google it, MO A is a great additive, anyway, I ran the 2 stroke thing by him and he said no bueno. Why? Because 2 stroke when it burns off leaves an ash residue that will coat the catalytic converter.

At 1 oz. to 5 gal. there isn't enough oil to coat anything with ash imo. Been using it for years and will continue to do so, especially in our older cars.

I realize that there is a lot of reading to be done here, but let me just cut to the chase. Before I started using the oil, I averaged 20-22mpg on the road in my 92 Camaro after several trips, the car was getting really close to 27mpg. And if that's not enough for you, the smog checks got better not worse using the oil. So whomever told you that is a little misinformed. If you care you can look up my previous posts and read it for yourself.

The TC-W3 is supposed to burn ashless. That could be one of the reasons why it needs to be that kind.

Heck, the amount of oil that gets blown by on LS's is probably enough to do that

I was just informed of this AMAZING Thread. Writing this comment so some of the newer folks will hopefully benefit from the information within, and so to not let this data fade into obscurity. Big thanks to "Sarge" for all his analysis, research, and time devoted over the past NINE years...!!!!!!!

Wow,,,,amazing stuff...! I put it in my 3.5L SUV, and it runs so much smoother, has better acceleration and power, and I got an easy 4 MPG increase...!!! Who would have thought? I have not read all 57 pages of this thread, but one thing that thread states repeatedly, is to use 1 Oz of TC-W3 per 5 gallons of gas AND use a 1:500 mix. This is contradictory. One Oz per 5 gallons is a 1:640 mix. That is a 28% difference. SO,,,,is it a 1:500 mix or a 1:640 mix? 1 oz per 4 Gallons is a 1:500 mix (1:512 to be exact), and 1 oz per 5 gallons is a 1:640 mix. SO, WHICH IS THE BETTER RATIO TO ACHIEVE THESE AMAZING RESULTS? MY RESULTS WERE ATTAINED USING THE THINNER RATIO OF 1:640, OR ONE OUNCE PER 5 GALLONS.

Hey guys anyone use Amsoil Interceptor? Been using it as TCW3 additive in my car it's ashless and it's been great, I noticed the Difference straight away on the acceleration, the car become more responsive.

I used Amsoil HP Injector back in the day with good results. The Interceptor looks to be similar.

I still use it in all our play cars, although we now have "alcohol free" fuel available to us in town at an exorbitant price. The daily drivers get dosed from time to time as well.

I'm still using it in my 92 Camaro, although I seldom ever drive it. I plan to start using it in my 2015 Silverado.

I still use it almost every tank, basically unless I don't have any and it's time to fill. Right now running a 2010 Camaro LS3, used TC-W3 since new on the car. I can tell a slight difference in fuel economy probably about 5% maybe more but fuel economy is so hard to compare outside of a lab setting that I don't try to be exact. Also I measure very general, I pour in 3-4 oz for a fill up that will be in the 15-18 gallon range. I eyeball everything. I have noticed that a bit extra doesn't hurt anything but somewhere less than 1 oz per 5 or 6 gallons the benefits start to drop. It's cheap so I'm not exact.

I started using now on my "new to me" 2003 Avalanche and can see the difference in how smooth the engine runs, again a slight difference but it's there. Camaro I used since new so no difference to be seen, I remember a difference in the GTO but that was long ago.

Now I'm think ing about doing the same in a new 4 stroke outboard..... the oil has come full cycle!

Just to make sure I'm reading this correctly. This will do the trick, right?

    https://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-produ...-2-stroke-oil/

    Quote Amsoil Website:

    APPLICATIONS
Use in two-stroke marine applications that specify TC-W3, including those made by: Johnson/Evinrude*, FICHT*, E-TEC*, Mercury* EFI & Optimax*, Yamaha*, Nissan*, Tohatsu* TLDI*, Suzuki*, Mariner*, Force*. Use as injection oil or 50:1 premix (2.6 oz. per U.S. gallon of gas).

Compatible with mineral and synthetic TC-W3-type two-stroke oils; however, mixing two-stroke oils should be minimized.

I have a 1994 camry xle 6 cyl. I have been having problems starting it. Changed plugs, and valve cover gasket, egr, and vaccum switching valve as well, and fuel filter. But hard to start. So i put approx 2 1/4 oz of penz 2 stroke marine oil into tank with approx 5 1/2 gallons of gas. Ran ok yesterday, but today it stalled at the corner. Would not start at all. Then after 15 minutes , it started again. Let it idle for 25 minutes, then drove it. Seems ok. MY QUESTION(IGNORE MY CAPS), WOULD PUTTING 2 1/4 OZ OF THE 2 STROKE PENZ INTO 5 GALLONS OF GAS SCREW THIS CAR UP ETC? SO FAR ITS RUNNING, ANY SUGGESTIONS, HOPE I DID NOT DO PERMANENT DAMAGE HERE?

My main concern would be the oil messing up the cat’s, but other than that, no.

When was the last time the distributors cap and rotor were changed? Wires as well?

If memory serves, I remember (from my Toyota days) stocking fuel pressure regulators for that model engine as well, as well as air-flow meters/MAFs.
