2001 camaro ss exhaust cutout question

How many cutouts do I need for SLP stock exhaust and what's a good brand for cutouts

And if is worth it with stock exhaust and I still have cats just wanted a little bit louder once in awhile

most people, myself included, just run 1 cutout under the passenger rear seat in the I-pipe. There's also a grommet right there that lets you run wiring into the cabin if you wanted to run an electric cutout which I also highly recommend. LS1speed has a qtp electric with stainless option. Not sure who else carries them.....probably everybody really that sells parts. I run a mccord powerplate which to my knowledge isn't even around anymore.

Does that make a little different even though I have stock exhaust with catalytic converters

na, that's what I started with. If I had it to do all over again I would've left my stock catback on and just ran a cutout. With cats on stock manifolds I ran mine open pretty much all the time. Now with no cats, headers, and the cam I have to watch it in town.

Hey Bulldog, I had QTP cutouts installed on my 2002 SS/SLP Camaro, they worked very good. I also bought the QTP digital electronic cutout controller readout that was installed on the center console in the ash tray. They could be opened to 10%, 50%, or 100% with the push of a button. I was running the JBA stainless ceramic coated headers, the cutouts worked perfect. If you are someone need one I have a brand new one still in the box, will sell it for a great price as I don't need it, I sold my 02 SS/SLP in May, I ordered and received my 2014 SS/2SS/1LE/RS Camaro. Hope this info. helped.....bj
