    ported throttle body

Can anyone tell me if i put a ported & polished throttle body on my car will i have to get it retuned. My car is already dyno tuned & I don't want to get it rtuned just for a throttle body.

You won't need to have it re-tuned for a ported & polished throttle body.

Although you would benefit from it, you dont have to retune it.

You would benefit from a tune after adding any power adder...But the potential extra 1 or 2 hp for a $500 tune is pointless...Your going to gain next to nothing for a re-tune after a ported & polished throttle body since the car is already tuned...Just my .02 though

Wow you actually pay $500 for a retune. If it has already had a base tune done most shops dont charge $500 to retune for additional bolt ons. By adding the ported and polished throttle body you can actually screw up the a/f mixture. Thats why I suggested the tune. When I first added my PP tb I actually lost about 2 mpg and that was not due to my heavy right foot. I drove it that way for a few months and didnt realize what I was missing untill I had it retuned. Ran much smoother and got my milage back along with more HP. But no you dont HAVE to get it tuned. You could wait till you added a few more mods first.

Thanks for that info. I will wait till i put on my zo6 heads on the car then i will put on the ported throttle body then & get it retuned. The quote to retune is from anoth performance shop not from the shop that tuned my car.
