    New bling on the TA

My dad and I made our own grills for my new hood and for the front bumper. I was thinking of painting the hood grills black, but i really like how the silver turned out.

Those look sweet! How much did they "runn" you?

I made mine and painted them with spray paint. But the polished steel looks better.

I attached it to the hood with clear silicone. Here's all the steps:

My dad and i made them out of some "metal sheeting?" he had. we roughly traced it on mat board, then cut the metal to slightly be slightly oversized. Then we sanded and painted them with spray paint. After it was dry, we put them thru the hood or bumper and attached the grill to a rubber band and connected the rubber band to a string. The string was tied to a heavy weight that we placed several feet away from the car. After it was all set up we pushed the grills a little bit away from the hood/bumper and put clear silicone all around the edges. It sat over night and badda bing! Free, painted grills

I know that someone on ebay sells them already polished. Search for firebird inserts and you should find them.

BTW what a nice g/f you have to buy you car parts that kicks A$$!

The polished steel does look a little more shiney, but i would suggest saving the money like I did and make your own The vents on the fenders can be spray painted as well... but it just matters if you wanna spend dough to make it look a lil better.
