Judging by the mods...the Cobra wouldn't have a problem with that WS.6.

naw... we havent cut loose yet.... there is a common understanding there... he says when he graduates from UT next spring hes dropping in a C6 Z06 motor and maybe even doing some cam/head work on top of that as well...

but with this S/C 4.6 i can pull some stuff out of my butt.. play with the pulleys and the tune... and we might still have a race when he gets that crate motor in... i do have to say.. he is a better driver than me as of now...

    Wasting his money.
While that motor is GREAT it is the car (LS7 Z06) itself that makes it really fast.
Not that difficult to make 450 RWHP out of the LS1.

If he drops in a factory LS7....I think you would still take him.

ahhh.. i dont know.. yes, it is the car (LS7 Z06) as a whole that makes it what it is... but hes talking about completely reworking the entire thing... suspension.. drivetrain.. chassis.. a/c... everything.. he plans on it being ‘the drive to work on Friday and take out on the weekend to go see the parents’ kinda car... I mean.. hey.. w/e.. being a engineer... (single).. he has the money to do all kinds of shit..

he was thinking about boring/stroking/resleve ect. the LS1... but... but he likes (and so do I..) the idea of getting a crate LS7 in our shop.. replacing the cams/head… while the LS1 is out.. rework everything(chassis.. suspension.. transmission.. some work on sh!t like the a/c.. new oil/water pump.. ect..) drop the camed/head LS7 in.. do everything else needed… good to go..

in a since modernizing the car to be a, like new, as dependable car as if buying one right off the lot…
    No replacement for displacement.

Dude! You can make those DURAMAX's real fast. My boss has got one with just programing, intake, and exhaust and it will smoke the duals off. I love passing people on the road with it cause they are totally amazed at how fast I pass them!

lol that’s so true I drove it for about a month this past summer... it has the 'Hypertech' with the K&N intake. It’s supposed to have something like 375RWHP and 670 Ft-lbs @ 2300RPM.... he’s planning on adding a full exhaust from the down pipe and a 150 gallon fuel take/ tool box to put some weight over the rear end(it will get lose on you just idling around a corner when the road is wet..) The only thing he/we regret is not getting the 4X4. He thought at the time he wouldn’t use it because all he really does is commute into Houston 40 miles one way (getting 24+/- MPG in a 3 ton truck) but since we have it, we help our family move hay during the summer months and boy I cant tell you how much the 4X4 comes in handy….
