Once the passenger kit is installed then both motors are on their own isolated circuits.

The Driver side should be fine. There is a small voltage drop caused by the factory express down module so the only way to remedy that is to use the DriverSide express down kit.

You could install the passenger kit on the driver side but you would have to remove the factory express down module and you would lose your express down obviously.

sounds interesting. I may have to give this a try. Will it wear out the motor faster than usual?

    Thanks

This is for the purpose of INCREASING the life of the motor.

It's the drop in voltage that burns out the motor.

Very cool. I will have to get one of these. It seems that the driver side motor goes out faster though.

Yeah the factory express down module seem shit or miss on how much of a voltage drop it causes. Generally people use the Driver side ALLOT more though.

    Angry Rip off

Worked fine for about 2 months, then went haywire & made the motor lock up. Window wouldnt roll up until I cut the "passenger window fix kit" out & then everything was fine. Window rolled up slower without the kit, but actually worked. The whole purpose behind the kit is to prevent you from having to replace the window motor so many times, but it's not worth the trouble to splice & run all the wires & try to cram that nest of wires and HUGE relays into your door panel. Not worth it, just complain to GM & replace your window motors.

This is VERY basic electronics, nothing about putting relays in between your motor and a switch will make things go haywire unless you had bad connections or put the relays inside the door and they got wet.

Putting two relays with dongles inside the arm rest is not that hard either. Hundreds of people have done it over and over.

Sorry you had such a bad experience.

No, this is not a rip off. You screwed it up somehow.

Won't stop me from buying it when I get time and money. Only reason I haven't bought it yet is because I know I won't have the time to do it right now, and I tend to lose stuff when I put it "away"....I seem to forget where "away" is Plus you guys are like, an hour from my house. I'll just come pick it up one day, and install it the same day (that day will just so happen to be when my electrical engineer brother-in-law is up from Texas )

This guy is the first complaint I've heard

I will have to buy one when I get back and try it out, I remember when I was younger when I had my 97 firebird I had so many problems with my window motors it was insane. I will give it a shot on the trans am so hopefully I wont ever have to replace the motor or atleast for a while.

So my passenger side window rolls down but it wont roll back up in one shot, itll roll up some slowly and stop if i wait a while and try again itll roll up a bit more and stop. If i install this kit will it fix the problem or do i forsure have to go get another motor and then install the kit?

The kit has been known to wake up old motors and keep them alive for longer but sometimes you just have to replace the motor. We do sell a package deal with window motors. You can choose to add one or two motors; they are dorman window lift motors.

I suggest to install a kit and see how well or long it allows the mototr to last. When you have to replace the motor you will already have the kit in place to allow for a longer life for the new one.
