I went to a YANK converter this past fall picked me up 11 MPH and from a 1.7ish to a 1.50 60ft,best damn conveter ive ever used! this allowed me to put my car in the 9s,every thing else being the same, same tune, leaving off the foot brake..

I was actually looking into these as well. For one becasue their on Ebay and im an ebay junkie lol and also they are really affordable for alot of options hey have in them and you tell them what range you want with what options you want for a great price. I think im gonna get a 3300 from them, i know thats a wierd number lol. I figure that way it should keep it around the 3000 to 3200 range better. I know the actual adveritised range is just that, the actual stall can move around depending on throttle input and temp and all that other stuff. Im not looking to peel pavment from roads, im just lookin for alittle more "snap" but nothing crazy. So for now ill go with the moderate concensus and stick around the 3000-3400 range. So for me in the next coming months, a Revmax will be in my ride. Will let ya'll know how it goes.
... really not looking forward to cutting my y-pipe off the headers though

You get it in yet? Id really like to hear some input on these converters. They look and sound pretty tough. and with all the upgrades they come with or can come with, they sound like they can compete against the big boys.

I dont think so. i was looking on their website and they break down whats actually in the converter. You can even upgrade pieces in it like anti baloon plates, carbon fiber lockup clutch, sprags, springs, and billet front cover. Im guess thats a good thing. Of course, with those it starts going up in price form $300. SO if you get the "base" converter then yeah, its gonna implode behind a 600+ HP motor with a 300 shot of nitros. but for us ordinary folk who only may shoot for 400-500 range, it should handle pretty well. just my 2 cents. im gonna give it a shot and see how it goes. I dont brake torque on a daily basis so i think an aftermarket TC should be ok behind my stock ls1. time to experiment
