4l80e converter problems

I can't get the converter to seat any deeper than shown. The pump in the trans spins freely and the first set of gears in the converter spins clockwise. The lower set (touching the screwdriver in pic) does not spin. Is this converter trash?

Is this the converter that was on the transmission when you removed it? It does take a bit to install them.

(I was going to post a vid of an install but Photobucket is acting bitchy -- no surprise there.)
