Antena Removal Question

I did a quick search and didn't find any helpful info.

My antena on my TA is an eyesore and I want to remove it. I rarely listen to the radio so really there's no need for it.

Anyone tell me how to take it off?

I assumed it just unscrewed off but it doesn't. Also, I've tried to manually push it down so it's not extended out all the way but again, no luck.

Any help is appreciated.

I am sure yours is extendable. I am also pretty sure the nylon track is broke. If you pull your spare tire out of the car, you will see where the antenna module/motor is at. I am pretty sure you will unbolt it, then, pull it out of the car. You may be able to simply pull on the broken, white, nylon track and get it to go down. Once you get it down, you can just unplug the little wiring harness from it. That way, it won't go up or down no matter what. If you want to repair it, there is a kit sold that is cheap. It replaces the nylon track.

I went with an internal, powered antenna. And ripped out my factory one. I got a small 3" fake antenna to put in the hole, looks pretty good. It is so short, it doesn't rise above the spoiler.

az gt is right. I had replaced my nylon track twice. I will add to the description that you have to unscrew a metal ring that secures the nylon antenna part to the shaft if you want to remove the nylon tape. The reason it doesn't go down is because the nylon tape broke and there is a small portion inside. If you take the whole antenna assembly out pot the side cover off and you will be able to remove the broken piece. I would just unplug the electrical plug and leave it in the down position. It's not really that hard to replace the antenna with the nylon tape. It saves you quite some money.
