emergency brake issues
took my car in for the mandatory safety inspection (hawaii sucks) and my car failed due to the E-brake not working. feels like it wants to start to grab a little once i have pulled it all the way to the top but not enough. Does anyone know how to tighten it up?

The only way i know of is to take the rear rotors off and tighten up the self adjusters on the e brake shoes.

Our e-brakes are basically drums where the shoes make contact to the inside of the rotor. The biggest possible bitch is if the bolts holding on the calipers are frozen.
You don't have to do all the steps but it will give you an idea of what you will need

When you take the rotor off you will see the shoes and at the bottom a little wheel/gear that you turn to adjust it. Make sure you you adjust it evenly or one side won't grab.
I almost did a write up on this but no one seemed interested
