Sunset Orange Metalic- 2001 Camaro SS
I pulled the carpet and it looks ok for the most part, but like i said the passenger side by the tire looks crammed up a bit and the spare tire is kind of squeezed in there. Still removable but there is definitely less space.
As for the pink and white SS, it is definitely salvageable

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
Well...the thing is, Ramairgod pretty much got T-boned on his driver side door, left rear quarter and had the rear almost torn completely out. The shop saved his. Just giving a lil ray of hope.

Sunset Orange Metalic- 2001 Camaro SS
I hear ya. I have seen 1 or 2 that were pretty bad that were brought back, thing is is it worth it to get it fixed or should i start shopping. I think i'll have a better idea once the insurance company takes a look at it.
Thing that makes me feel better is at least it was ATT and not someone without insurance.

I've seen this myself. An old friend of mine was in a head on with an old full-sized bronco in his (new @ the time) 00-01 Silverado. The truck looked like a total, the insurance did'nt see it that way and put a new frame and front end on it.. it never seemed right after that..

Honestly, I wouldn't bother. After they are hit that hard, they are never the same. I would personally start hoping they total it (and they probably will).
It's a 98 for starters, and if it has over 100,000 miles on it, as well as other minor issues on the front like you mentioned (and they will look the whole car over) it all adds up to a lesser value overall for the car, and if the repairs reach a certain percentage of that (can't remember exactly,,,,40% maybe???),,,it's a total.
Just off the top of my head, with all those issues, and if it has alot of miles, they will probably come back with a total value of $6-7,000 if you are lucky. Those repairs will be in the $3,000 neighborhood easily (most likely higher). Which is easily at or more than half the value of the car.
Good news is they will offer to let you buy it back (anywhere from $500-$1,000) usually deducted from the money they offer you for the car and then you just keep it. Take the remainder of the money to buy another, and in the mean time strip this one for parts.

Thats most likely what will end up happening
It does have about 65K on it so its not bad for a 98
Time will tell
thanks for the info/advice

The mileage will play in your favor, that's fairly low for a nearly 13 year old car. Just have to wait and see. Goodluck with it.
Edit: I looked at the pics again, (because Kahana mentioned wheels,,,hahaha) Ya I think that's a total.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 05-26-2010 at 06:56 PM.
