Cyclone Gray & Black- 2004 Black GTO,71 Formula
PCV Valve location and a general Question
ok i have a 04 GTO with a Texas Speed Iron block 6.0 with patriot heads alot of other mods to, been having a small problem i'm finding oil in the thottle body and some in the intake, oil consumption is not to bad but it could be better. motor only has about 7k on it.
my question is i have a hose that runs under the intake to the throttle body and have positive vacuum to it at idle.
I'm finding oil in the tube and some in the throttle body.
is there a pcv valve under the intake? if not or can i install one at the throttle body?
and would this keep the oil problem under control.?

You want to take this hose off and run long hose from where it hooks to the intake over to a catch can, then from the catch can back to the throttle body... This will fix your oil in the intake problem. Lots of times it can get so bad they if you take your intake off you can actually dump the oil out of it.
I got my catch can off of eBay for $38, I'll try and find the link. Defineatly worth it!

the pcv valve is under the intake. Like Mark said a catch can should help out with the oil.

In 04 (not sure about later models) we didn't really have a pcv valve, it was just a 2.5mm orifice hole in the in valley pan breather baffle

Cyclone Gray & Black- 2004 Black GTO,71 Formula
ok thanks i added a pcv valve inline to it saturday night and i'll be ordering a catch can from the place you mentioned on ebay this weekend.
hopefully this will stop or slow the oil consumption problem.
I mean it was using a quart of oil about every 500 miles or so and if i drove it hard it was worse.
thank for the help..

Sounds to me like you need to do a compression test and check your rings.
