Who knows they could have changed it by now. That was about 7-8 years ago. I used it because I use to use it to always clean my gym shoes. Said to myself as good as it works on these it will work good on an engine too. . . . . . . . Had a polished upper plenum on a 5.0 at the time. . . . . . . . 20 min later it looked like shit! If I remember right I think I read the can afterward and it said to Not use on aluminum.

has anyone used krudkutter degreaser? i was wondering if it would be safer for the rubber/wiring because it says on the bottle that it doesn't contain any petroleum solvents and is biodegradeable..

    Never used it.

I would just read the label and make sure it won't cause aluminum to oxidize before giving the whole engine a treatment with it...

Maybe try it on a small spot first.

then see after a couple of days if it causes hazing..

so i got some simple green all- purpose spray.
it says use 1 part simple green and 10 part water...
so if i wet the motor with hose then spray once every so often should i be fine? and can i use this everywhere under the motor? or are there places i shouldnt use this
[NOTE**** i have the all time fog light mod so the wire is exposed]

    It worked

I had some slight oil leakage around my valve cover and after using a store bought spray bottle of simple green for 5 bucks and just lightly spaying with a garden hose the oil and dirt washed right away that stuff is incredible everything under the hood looks brand new thanks for the tips

For plastic parts in the engine bay I use 303 Aerospace protectant. Also use it all over the interior. Read about it here...

I have never used Shine under the hood. Curious on whether it attracts dust and dirt?

I haven't either this was the first time. I couldn't find the CD2 so I figured I would try the shine. Time will tell when I get it back on the road this spring

Since CD2 is pretty much impossible to find I cleaned mine with diluted SG and it cleaned it up really nice. I used the GUNK engine brite detailer and it looked great, nice and new looking but it was kinda sticky and attracted dirt. What new product shines it up nice and doesn't make it sticky?

CD2 is stop leak. Is there something else called CD2 for using under hood?

I think they discontinued the CD2 engine detailer.
