Still stock size now in Falken currently on the car. I have a feeling this may be the last summer for the Falkens. Considering the Mickey Thompson Street Comps for the next set.

I am about two weeks out from mounting my new summer tires and wheels, Goodyear Eagle F1-GSD3's (285/40/17) on four 17x9.5 factory C5 Z06 wheels.
I wanted to run 295's, but it wouldve required wider wheels, which I couldnt find too many good looking, lightweight wheels in a 17 inch, and the 18 inchers were about $400+ a tire for what I wanted (figured the extra cost would be better spent on controll arms instead).

I had Nitto 555r DR 275 50R17's. They worked ok. Going with M/T ET Streets soon. They're already bought.
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

I run 275's with no issues, but I also do more twisty courses than drag strip type stuff...in fact, I've never taken my car to a drag strip since I've owned it. With that said, mine will have 295's on all 4 corners before summer. Already in the works to match up with my suspension upgrades.

Yea nitto doesn't make the 17's in a 295. And well 295 40 17 are basically impossible to find..Ive found 295 45 17 tires but not to how that would fit..

I currently run 275s making 361 rwhp. Haven't had trouble putting power to the ground, but I'm also still breaking in my clutch, so I haven't tried to push it really hard yet. I also don't do clutch drops or "launch" my car, so I can't speak for how they would hold up to that kind of driving, either.
I'm looking at possibly going to 285s, but I've also found the tire I want in 275, and might just go with that. I run 255s up front.
Based on what I can find, the best performance tire for a variety of driving situations is the Michelin Super Sports. I haven't tried to compare them to DRs though, cause I'm not really committed to straight line performance.
Any reason you don't want a staggered set up? It's my understanding that for driving in the twisties, a car handles/responds better if the front tires are narrower than the rear tires. Every sports car is set up that way, as well.Lid, Throttle Body, LS6 Intake, Heads, Cam, Magnaflow, LS7 Clutch, SFCs, STB, Panhard Bar, Strano Springs, Hollow Sway Bars, Poly/Roto LCAs, Konis, MGW Shifter

With how much our cars weigh, the front end would tend to push on skinny tires in hard corners. I would prefer the same size on all four corners. Other issue would be your ABS/TCS if there is any significant diameter change from front to rear when you mismatch them.

Yes. I'm having to buy new wheels in order to get the tires I want for my car.
As for the diameter difference, I'd tend to want to keep the same diameter, but go with narrower tires up front (it's how my car came, and it works great; but I haven't tried same size up front, either, so I can't compare from experience).
I run 275 in the back with 255 up front.

Have any pics that show the difference?

Best I can do at the moment is refer you to the for sale thread when I bought the car. The same pic that I've used for my avatar seems to be the closest thing to what you're looking for... but probably not the quality of comparison that you'd like:

Good set of pics - but nothing that really shows the difference.
