    Ls -> 944

    I'm new to this forum and to all things LS. I have a 84 944 Porsche and will (assuming my wife goes along) swap the 4 banger for an LS engine. I've visited other sites with the same swap and know it's both popular and affordable. I've done engine swaps many many years ago, but want to up my knowledge on how to do it with the LS. I know the adapters are available and at some point pull the 4 and replace it with the LS. I'm lacking the skills to integrate the LS wiring and reprogram the ECU and hope I can learn how to from others on this site.

    Thanks,

    al

    I thought you were my friend at first. He has been considering this swap for 6 months now. If you go through with it, good luck and post pictures.

    Well, I wanted to start somewhere, so here it is: I managed to get my hands on a '98 LS1 all aluminum engine and stock wiring harness and ECU Here is the "before" pictures. Been doing some searching on how to modifying the ECU. Anybody ever used any GM products from moates.net?

    ^^^I have not. I don't know anyone who has. An LS1 would really wake up that Porsche, it probably weighs 2800 lbs.

    Ls -> 944

    There was a thread here a long time ago of a guy in MS that did put a LS in a Porsche. I'll look and see if I can find it.
