Stupid moves...

A thread inspired by a fellow v6er on another forum. Name a few stupid things you have tried while modding, fixing, or working on your car.

1) Dentist tools aren't great for cars.
2) Two gaskets on an oil filter do not help the seal.
3) When they say gently pry the window controls from the door panel or you may crack the plastic on the switches, its totally true. Twice.

my friend was putting an intake on his civic (thinks "this is gonna be good")

and leans into his engine bay and places his hand on a blazing hot valve cover

Valve cover gaskets will basically cut when pinched by the valve cover and bolts at around 100ish pounds of torque. Learned that when like 16?

Make sure you put the bolt back on a steering wheel after putting a new one on. It didn't stay on for long once I hit a bump. I almost shit my self after that!
