yep put 100 rounds down range today. It's a bitch because of the bump on the grip safety and the lightweight aluminum frame. Got some things im gonna change out. Installing a new Grip Safety, GI guide rod, extended mag release and single side thumb safety

Nice Springer. Why would you change the beavertail safety? The one on the springers is very nice. Also why would it be a bitch to shoot? I have an aluminum framed 3" 1911 and it isn't bad at all. Only weighs 25oz unloaded.

    Nice piece man.
I am contemplating getting a sidearm..
Can't decide on which one tho...Looked at several so far. .45 and the 9 so far pique my interest.. Has be an auto tho.. None of the damn revolvers have a large enough handgrip.. my pinkie and half my second to last finger hang over. Seems I have large hands ?? The Sig 9 with extended grip/clip fits just about perfect.
Any advice from guys that have used/owned handguns on a good model/manufacturer before I purchase ?

thanks, It's ALOT snappier than my steel frame guns that I am used to shooting. The "bump" in the GS digs into the palm of my hand. I guess i'll just have to get used to it.

Crimson, shoot me a PM with some details on function/purpose of what you're looking to get and I'll try to help you out a bit

yeah the aluminum 1911's definately do feel snappier than their steel counterparts, but with a well timed action can be quite smooth. My Custom Shop Kimber is very smooth shooting for a light weight .45. I shot mine side by side with my buddies steel framed Springer the other day and you definately notice the difference. My Kimber has a much crisper trigger though. I do prefer the Ed Brown style grip safety like yours has to the smooth one on mine though. It makes for a much more positive safety release IMO. I may swap mine out for an Ed Brown part. I already fit an Ed Brown checkered MSH on it. Here is mine.

very nice... I have a 3" ultra elite that I love just don't carry it as much as a full size. I think I might go to the smooth GS if I can find one I like
