Navy Blue Metallic- 2001 WS6 Trans Am
Torque Converter W/ Procharger
I'm getting a procharger installed sometime soon...Also considering getting a Vigilante 3200 Torque Converter...Will need a Trans Cooler also...Is it worth the buy to compliment the Procharger? Torque Converter, Trans Cooler and labor about $1200 extra on top of the Procharger setup.

Arctic White- 1998 Trans Am
Definatley get the Converter! The A4s laydown in third with the crappy stock converter! I have a D1SC on my 98 TA pulls hard but when third gear hits takes time to rebuild RPM and get the boost back up. I wouldn't go with anything less than a 3600 stall though. The car is VERY mannered and streetable even with 4000's in them. I hope you have SFC's and some good tires or you don't have a shot in hell at hooking. You will not be disappointed in the ProCharger, I dynoed at 493 RWHP on a Mustang Dyno, stock LS1 with a headers and an intake! Get someone reputable to put it in, get a good Dyno Tune and don't by it from any other than Bob at Exotic Performance.
Just my Opinions!

tranny cooler and shift kit for tranny abuse is always a big plus. heat murders our trannies very easily and the shift kits beef up alot of part and makes the shifts faster and stronger. any tranny cooler rated at 24k gvu or higher is recomended and the transgo hd2 shift kit for the 4l60e. both will make your tranny last longer with the added torque and stall converter. but if you plan on major abuse the tranny will be gone along with the rear end. so if its just a cruiser with very little play in the future then you might not need to get a tranny. but i would count on a built tranny of some sort so you dont have to worry about the stocker taking a dump on you, because it seems like something goes wrong at the most inoppertune times.

you will need a trans, those stock 60s are not meant for that much power,I have one for sale with converter,pm me or look under parts, its a Rossler 4l65E with trans brake, all depends on tune and what your doing, garanteed anything over 450rwhp trans is going to need replaced.
mods: custom built twins, built 408 w/l92 stock GM heads,GM matching intake, drag bags, frame ties, aluminum drive shaft, performabuilt 4l80e,Yank converter, ohios fastest and quickest 04-06 GTO 9.52 at 144mph. 1.50 60ft on stock rear end and shafts/suspension,on drag radials.

Your 4L60E might break with the procharger...idk what to tell you. You can build it now or hope for the best.
I got a 28.8k cooler. One of the best I could find without a fan. Nothing wrong with keeping a tranny cool. I love the shift kit, feels awesome. So get one of those too!
I'd suggest a 3600 or higher stall.

I read a lot about them before I bought mine and pmed every one that had it in their signature. You might wanna do that too, or just take one person's word for it (me)
Everyone I talked to, wouldn't stop raving about it, so i bought an SS3600 (made by Yank)
Been in love ever since. Before I had it tuned, it wasn't the funnest to drive. I'd have to get the RPMS up kinda high to get her moving real good. Like 2-2500 or so. After the tune, it was amazing, I bet if you drove my car, you'd barely notice it. The car ran WAY smoother and pulled so smooth after the tune.
If you weren't into cars at all and were driving the car like a normal person, you'd never know it had a 3600 stall or anything even done to it I bet, till you floored it and lost control haha. Nah, that dont happen anymore, i got 315 nittos and it don't spin too much.

A good one that holds the power you are making...i would look around 8-900 if it's a yank. Don't be turned off on the price, it's one of the best mods if you want a better ET at the track.
There are other companies out there that will be cheaper, not necessarily better. Ask around, there are plenty of people here with experience with a stall converter.
Circle D makes a good converter as well I hear.
Let the company know what you are making power wise and I'm sure they will help you out and sell you a converter that will hold up.
I bought mine used and paid 550, thats a risk though

Go as loose as you can stand (within reason); the centrifugal blowers work best higher up.

Yeah, but I've been told that a 3200 stahl is good enough because the procharger will raise the RPM's itself...This person being an individual that works at speedinc..

you can settle for the 3200, it'll be ok
