how long does it take to get granted permission to post on the various sections? ie, parts for sale and such.

Isnt that just terrific. I used to be a member waaaay back when but my email is different and I cant remember the password. (not even 100% sure on the user name) Well, I'm not gonna spend 3 months trying to get 100 posts just so I can try to sell some parts off a TA I sold 4 years ago. Your loss not mine.
