clutch shim ?
i got a spec stage 1. my car is basically all stock. i put it in mid jan. i didn't shim it. we bleed the hell out of it. and everything was fine during the recommended 500 mile break in.
i got on it a few times. mainly hard shifting from a roll, more than hard launches.
and it's getting more difficult to shift into 3rd. at one point during a run, it wouldn't come out of 3rd.
my car has tons of miles, so i expect to need a new tranny in the near future. but i would like to trouble shoot, to make sure it isn't something else first.
i used a new slave from the part store. and i used the TO bearing that came from spec. (mainly cause it looked like the one that was already on the old slave)
the pedal feels a little spongey, so i think it needs bleed again. but how would the clutch feel, if you didn't shim the slave?
would it be more difficult to shift between gears?
would it make a slight grinding sound when shifting?
thanks for your time and your help.

Agreed, you need to install the supplied shim. I would also recommend a new master cylinder from Tick. Definitely recommend. I did the stage 2 spec, and the factory master wasn't enough to fully move the clutch. I would recommend you do this BEFORE you ruin your tranny (like I did.)
