Sensors
I have an 05 Chevy Avalanche and I have a pretty fair oil leak. It appears to be coming from a plastic sensor which is in the passenger side of the oil pan. Does anyone know what that sensor is? I’m thinking maybe oil level sensor but can’t verify that.

The top issue with that vehicle for oil leaks is Oil pressure sensor. One sure way to check is if in your instrument cluster the oil pressure gauge is erratic, if so then there is a failure in your sensor, and 9 out of 10 fixes the sensor is leaking which is allowing oil to pass through the threads and not giving accurate measurements of pressure in your engine.
Oil Pressure sensor OE cost is $28.53 and OE labor time is 0.5. Hope this helps.
