If I had a worthy enough suspension I would for sure. I need new shocks and swaybars for that sort of thing though, and lets not even start to talk about my brakes. I'll probably make it to this if I've got time to and the cash, just depends on if I move by then or not.

Can you expand on the "classes" for CSP? I would like to know which one I would fit in. What is required for tech? Are helmets, fire suites, fire extinguishers etc. required? What about window nets and arm restraints? How will timing be done, do we need to get transponders and mount them? Is the event sanctioned and insured by anyone?
-

We are more than likely going to do the classes exactly the same as a SCCA AutoX event...more to come on that.
CSP techwill be May 31st @Speedy Roopair from 12pm-8pm
- Out of state Drivers will have there Tech done at the Hotel the night before.
Speedy Roopair
18355 E. Girard Ave. Unit B
Aurora CO 80013
Bandimere Speedyway Tech will be done the night of June 5th at the Hotel and if you can make that back up Tech day will be at the track.
Helmets are required any other safety device is up to you.
We are looking at doing the timing with either Stop Watch's or with the same equipment that we use for AutoX's...really depends on how many cars we want to run at once.
We are shopping for someone to help us insure the event...we have two companys in mind..if you have one let me know

When and where for tech I saw in the first post. I was looking to find out what they will be checking for. Is it simply looking for leaks, battery hold hown, functional brakes etc. or are there anything more in depth for road course use?
You might check with the SCCA and see if the time trials guys would be willing to help put that portion of the event on and maybe you could piggyback on their insurance.

I really need new pads, either that or a whole new big brake kit. I think im gonna pass on everything detailed above except the Bandimere shootout.

We have some people in SCCA and NASA that may be able to help us out for a reasonable price
The Tech for CSP will be checking Tires, Engine Leaks, Brakes, make sure you don't have any loose items in your car, making sure everything is secure inside and out of the car, and fluids...to make sure you brake fluid and the such is good.
-
01-24-2008, 09:02 AM #14
Good pads and new fluid will go along way to making your brakes live in track conditions.
Big brakes are nice, but not required for having some fun on a track. Just don't get stupid and fade them completely away. Run a couple hard laps, then a couple easy ones to cool the brakes. Go get a set of Hawk HPS or HP+ pads for the front and some Motul 600 brake fluid and you'll be set. Rear pads are fine stock.
