Can i swap pcms from a 00 to my 99 ?

Buy a p1sc kit and was wondering if i could swap pcms . I dont think i can because i thought the vins were into each one . But just wondering , then both of us can drive our cars instead of towing them to tuning shops .

you can BUT depending what options the car had that your swapping the PCM with your guages might be off or set off your SES...

which in turn means the car would have to be tuned anyways...

as long as the cars have the same options (ABS, TC, etc etc) he'd be fine with out a tune... the vins don't matter... infact my tune on my car used the vin from a 2004 corvette...

He has tcs and I don't. And he has 4.10 and I have 3.42. I know where both going to need tunes but as least we can drive thr cars if we swap Pcms

Might not be dead on, the exact same tune but it should be drivable.
