Dropped the hardware through the blackening solution tonight and also epoxied the capped wells in the main body. Always a good idea on Q-jets to do this when you have them apart.

Finally finished up the carb tonight. Had to order a new choke pull off for it after ours tested bad. I was very pleased to find that these can still be purchased through our local NAPA.

Very nice man! Can't wait to see it on that sneaky engine you got..

That carb looks cleaner than it would've come brand new. Very nice. Post some vid of firing it up.

Received an e-mail this morning from BTR Performance:
It's running! Sounds great. Idles good. Carb ok so far. I didn't mess with it except for idle mixture screws. I'll make some pulls tomorrow. Very responsive.

Received the dyno sheet in an e-mail today from BTR. 406 hp at 5,700 r.p.m. and 436 lb.ft. at 3,500 r.p.m. -- pretty sure those are the numbers, I didn't bring the sheet home with me from the office so I may be off a little bit. Weather permitting, we are going up on Saturay to make another pull and will then bring her home.

Sounds like a plan. I am not on call this weekend, pending things work out the way they should with the installs this week. If something changes between now and then I'll let you know, but I am buying my own lunch.
