Try to bump this one and get it going again. Going to get camper set up for hunting and haul it down in the next week or so to hunt camp. Still a ways out for me to get out and chase deer. Get wood cut for camp and take kids after squirrel for a few weeks. Going to get the bow out and run some arrows through it this week.

I can't wait till the 7th. My pins get pulled out and this damn cast comes off. Gives me 3 weeks to get mobility back in my hand.
This year my son gets to go for the first time as a hunter not a watcher.
Not sure which one I want to use. The 30.06 I've had a deer every year since I got it (not trying to be superstitious but...) But I also have the 6.8 that I built for hunting as well. I'm just needing a better scope then what's on it.
I wish I was closer to my Dad's place so I could go up and help out more. It's an 8 hour drive from my place to the camp. He's gone up and started setting hog traps again and placed camera's out. So far it looks like the herd has grown, or had more deer move in. Some bigger ones then last yr as well. Which means nothing, cause the bastards will ghost on opening day....Last edited by SMWS6TA; 09-25-2019 at 07:35 AM.

The problem with this sub forum is I have to remember to click through to check it because it doesn't show from aag on my phone. So expect me to miss some days haha
I'm going to try and get my daughter to run hunt this year. She's always been afraid of the gun so we have to get her over that. Zach is 100% on his own this year....he's ready. Going to get him how hunting with me instead of just squirrel hunting while I how hunt. Looking to put some deer in the freezer this year. I still have some left from last season but I've been hoarding it for months now and only using it here and there.

Does he do the youth hunt? Do they have that in OH?

Glad you asked that. I have to read some rules and see how he qualifies. Yes....we do have youth hunting. At 16 he no longer needs an adult to sit with him. Youth tags are available until 18. I have to see how that overlap works. If I get him a youth license I may still have to sit with him or if I get him a regular license he may not be able to youth hunt. Gotta read and see how that works.

They changed out limits last year so we can only get 2 now. That's not enough for us really so I need Zach to step up and get at least 1. Going to let Chloe gun hunt this year if she wants so maybe she can get one too.

I have some hang ons at 20' but I typically use my climber. I bought a lone wolf hand climber a few seasons ago and it's about as comfortable as any stand I've had.

Shit, mostly all of our stands are enclosed, roofed over and have nice chairs to sit in. Fwak rain....
Looking at the forecast and it's going to be in the 70's during the day and 40's at night.Last edited by SMWS6TA; 09-29-2019 at 06:33 PM.
