Looks like you have the short harness wire going to the front knock sensor, long wire to back? I did mine the opposite (copying from the old harness), but I could be wrong. Anyway if you ever get a knock sensor code, you might need to switch the numbers (#1 is really #2 and vice versa).

i just put it in where it fit and reached without stretching the wires. No knock senor codes though so i guess i did it right lol. I tryed it the other way but the harness didnt fit right.

I started doing this on my '01 ws6. I am about to open up the old cover since I already took off the intake. What is the part number for the ls6 cover? Also someone mentioned they got a OPSU for about $10, where at? I am a complete beginner to all this and I am surprised I've gotten this far without much help.
One more question, how do you know if your intake is ls1 or ls6? the number on it 12561184

This will help with the VCT mod, part number is in second post
    http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145557

Your lucky you have a LS6 Intake

    Stock 2001-2002 F-body LS6 is 12561184.
    The Z06 LS6 is 12573572.

The old LS1 intake with the EGR setup is 12560688.
    97-00 vette LS1 part # is 12556333

OPSU's go for about $50, $10 sounds like a private used deal.

Sweet Does this also mean I don't have to cut anything in the block?

How do you know if it's broken? I already took off my intake, but not sure if I broke the OPSU in the process.

    Thanks again for the help!

You most likely will have to. 02's are the only ones that for sure had the LS6 block. It's not hard, take your time, and make sure to cover everything so that you don't get any metal in the engine. I had a buddy used a shop vac as I was cutting, help minimized debris.

You can PM if you get stuck.

Only way to tell is to take it of and look for cracks. I'd go ahead a switch it out as well as the knock sensors and wire harness. All 3 are over 10 yrs old and have been through 1000's of heat cycles. Think of it as one of those preventative maintenance things.

The socket can be got for $10 at any parts store.

I am doing the valley cover conversion right now. Intake back on, working fuel rails right now. What about the connection at the brake booster? That hose is removed, but must we cap that off at the booster too or did I miss something?

The brake booster hose shouldn't have anything different about it. It connects between the intake manifold and the booster. Are you talking about a different hose?

I haven't completed all the reconnects yet, I just didn't see that connection. Thanks for clarifying.

Noob here reviving this, would an open element breather on the driver side valve cover where the pcv was be a good or bad thing? This is of course with the LS6 intake and valley mod.

I know that I have not been on this site for quite a while, but I have been kina busy. My question is: 12577927 cover, 12594779 hose, 12562267OPSU, are these all of the parts I will need for the conversion on my '02 B4C car? I am preparing for this task. Thanks, Andy
