I'm planning on doing a low compression motor based on the LSX block and doing either a pro-charger or turbo. It'll be a couple of years so I'll see what's on the market when I get there. I have a chance to get a LSX block for 1200.

a small block LS2 for that price is not much, it's a steal.

I might have to skip my headers to get it this spring. I'd just set it aside until I can afford to build it up. That block can handle 2500 HP!!!!

I figure with a mild forged stroker build, low comp and force fed it should be able to do more that what I want it to.

HP Tuners allows many more parameters that allows a much more significantly tuned car than LS1Edit. Try a SD tune with both of them and let me know

Oh almost forgot. A properly setup Auto will walk a M6 all day everyday.

LG Motorsports uses LS1Edit and some other LS2 tunner software to tune their race cars... I'll ask them if they have HP Tuners as well.

Way to start the arguement up again.

Thats not an accurate statement. A properly setup manual with a skilled driver can kick the shit out of many an auto. A stalled auto is not invincible.

    Think about it:

2 otherwise identical cars, both with 4.10 gears, the auto with a built transmission and a stall, the manual with a racing clutch and built T56.

The automatic is always going to lose more power through the drivetrain. Therefore it has the disadvantage, all other things being equal. A T56 with 4.10's will never fall off the powerband, just as a stalled 4L60 won't fall off the powerband. Difference is the manual stays in the powerband because the gear ratios are close together, the auto stays in the powerband because the converter allows slippage. Slippage equals wasted power.

With a skilled driver, a built M6 will beat a stalled auto every time.
